The U.S. Supreme court has announced it will review Mississippi’s abortion ban. This is a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade and a risk to reproductive rights all over the U.S.

The right to make decisions about our own bodies is a fundamental cornerstone of freedom for all women and LGBTQIA+ people and we must stand loud and clear in our fierce opposition to restrict those rights.

The Supreme Court is taking up a Mississippi 15-week abortion court case that could overturn both Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey Because of this extraordinary circumstance, we’re extending the deadline to join NOW’s monthly giving program, the Feminist Action Network to Friday, May 21—the stakes just couldn’t be higher.

I am alarmed that the Supreme Court has agreed to review this ban. The Mississippi case unquestionably violates 50 years of Supreme Court precedent. There is no way to uphold this ban without overturning Roe. We must make it very clear: every pregnant person has the right to decide what to do with their own bodies.

We are in this fight for the long-haul. And we know that it will take time, dedication and resources to protect safe, legal abortion.
