January 6th was an extremely terrifying day for our Democracy.

We witnessed an angry mob storm the Capitol in an effort to
block the certification of the presidential election. Even worse
— the President encouraged and incited this violence.

This goes directly against the president’s duty to uphold our
Constitution, and it’s why Congress must proceed with impeachment
hearings.

It has become clear that it is well past time for him to be
removed from office. In addition, we have to set a precedent that
the president cannot encourage violence against our government or
their political opponents.

It is Congress’ duty now to hold Trump accountable for his
violation of the rule of law and protect our government from
further damage and chaos.
