Local restrictions on flavored tobacco and e-cigarette products

Sales restrictions on all flavored tobacco products, including all types of menthol products, are gaining momentum at the local and state level. As of March 31, 2024, 400 jurisdictions and three Native American tribes have placed some type of restriction on the sale of flavored tobacco products. About 28.48% of the U.S. population is living in a jurisdiction with a flavored tobacco sales restriction in effect, but only 3.23% of the population is covered by the most comprehensive state or local flavored tobacco sales restrictions.
