truth, the award-winning national public health campaign from Truth Initiative, is seeking passionate, committed leaders who are eager to amplify our mission and tackle tobacco and vaping nicotine through the lens of mental health, social justice, and environmental impact. The truth Ambassador program offers a year-long leadership opportunity for young people to advocate for tobacco- and vape-free communities, forge partnerships, and inform policies to protect public health. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2024.

Local restrictions on flavored tobacco and e-cigarette products

Sales restrictions on all flavored tobacco products, including all types of menthol products, are gaining momentum at the local and state level. As of March 31, 2024, 400 jurisdictions and three Native American tribes have placed some type of restriction on the sale of flavored tobacco products. About 28.48% of the U.S. population is living in a jurisdiction with a flavored tobacco sales restriction in effect, but only 3.23% of the population is covered by the most comprehensive state or local flavored tobacco sales restrictions. Malden, Massachusetts – The Board of Health adopted a regulation prohibiting the sale of tobacco products to anyone born after January 1, 2004. The regulation will take effect January 1, 2025.
