Dear John,

Our Week of Action continues today with an urgent message about the threat to the very foundation of our democracy--and what we can do about it. We can't have reproductive freedom and women's health without a strong, healthy democracy--where the right to vote is protected for everyone.

The fight for voting rights has never been more urgent. A decade after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, at least 29 states have passed 94 laws that make it harder to vote, disproportionately affecting voters of color.

That's why NOW supporters are standing up for the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, which restores and strengthens the Voting Rights Act and brings down the barriers built to silence people of color, women, Native Americans, people with disabilities and low-income people who were historically kept from easy access to the voting booth.

Our democracy is being hijacked by voter restriction techniques that disproportionately impact young people, the elderly, low-income individuals and especially people of color--and within each of these communities, women are most harshly affected.

Women are being kept from voting on the issues that matter most to them--like equal pay for equal work, access to reproductive care, gender equality and racial justice.

Join this week's actions by urging your Senators to support the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act today. Our vote is our voice--and we must always be free to use it!

Thank you for your continued support!

In Solidarity,
Christian F. Nunes
