Migrant families need a voice in Congress. As the child of Jamaican immigrants, this is an issue that’s very near to my heart.

Part of my work has been pushing for comprehensive immigration reform and protections for DACA and TPS recipients. Our immigrant families and neighbors are facing a wave of attacks from the far right, and we need to elect immigration champions to Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

This is not just an immigration issue, it’s a racial justice issue. 1-in-10 Black people in America are immigrants according to the Pew Research Center.

I am a staunch supporter of H.R. 2, the U.S. Citizenship Act : a bold, inclusive, and humane vision for the future of the U.S. immigration system.

But folks, I’m also being attacked by the likes of Donald Trump and even Elon Musk for being a strong supporter of immigrants. Will you donate $20 today to support my re-election campaign so I can continue working on legislation to support those who need it most? [[link removed]]

My goal as a legislator has always been to lead with empathy and compassion, and that means for ALL of us in America.
