In an effort to encourage the Biden Administration to finalize and implement the Food and Drug Administration’s menthol and flavored cigar rules, youth and young adult activists from across the country came together this week in the nation’s capital to raise their voices in support of swift action. As part of the annual Moment of Action with truth ([link removed]) , the national public education campaign from Truth Initiative, young people met with the White House and decision makers on Capitol Hill.

According to a 2023 Truth Initiative survey, 67% of 15-to-24-year-old e-cigarette users surveyed said they were considering quitting as a New Year’s resolution. There are many reasons people want to quit vaping, including physical or mental health concerns, financial cost, freedom from addiction, and influence from friends, family, and others. A Truth Initiative analysis ([link removed]) found that concerns about health and mental health, as well as social influence, are among the top reasons for quitting.
