One year later, Truth Initiative calls on FDA to finalize rules on menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars to protect youth, advance health equity and save lives ([link removed])

It was a year ago today ([link removed]) that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed rules to remove menthol cigarettes and all flavored cigars from the U.S. marketplace, a historic move to help end the enormous harm resulting from the predatory and deadly practices of the tobacco industry. As we continue to wait for a final rule, Truth Initiative is calling on the FDA to take action without any further delay to get these deadly, flavored combustible products off the market and put the health of Americans over tobacco industry profits in a bold and meaningful way.

18 more colleges and universities pledge to go tobacco/vape-free ([link removed])

Eighteen colleges and universities are working toward adopting a 100% tobacco/vape-free campus policy as the newest grantees of the Truth Initiative Tobacco/Vape-Free College Program. The program offers funding of up to $20,000 to colleges, universities, and college systems to support the adoption and implementation of a 100% tobacco/vape-free policy. Since 2015, 148 grantees have adopted tobacco- and vape-free policies, protecting more than 1.4 million students, faculty, and staff each year.

How the tobacco industry markets vaping nicotine as stress relief ([link removed] )

Some e-cigarette manufacturers have used a similar strategy to market e-cigarettes that tobacco companies used for decades to sell cigarettes: advertising them as stress relievers.
