Friend of Trust for Public Land,
Do you have plans for Saturday, April 22? To kick off National Park
Week, everyone gets free entry into our national parks!
With more than 400 parks across the country, covering more than 85
million acres in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and US
territories, there's somewhere special for everyone.

Few people know that privately held land still exists within our
national parks.

Many of those inholdings are at risk of being developed, threatening
the parks' overall integrity. Trust for Public Land is determined to
fully protect these national treasures by conveying private inholdings
and threatened lands adjacent to parks into public ownership, ensuring
their unspoiled beauty can be enjoyed for generations to come. We are
so grateful to our supporters who help make that possible!
Enjoy your time outdoors,
Alana Fink
Associate Director of Digital Engagement
Trust for Public Land
PS: Mark your calendars! The National Park Service announced three
other days of free entry: Great American Outdoors Day on August 4,
National Public Lands Day on September 23, and Veterans Day on
November 11.
TPL turns 50
In 2023, we reflect on and celebrate our first 50 years of impact, and
we look ahead at the work still to be done. From protecting unspoiled
lands, building parks and trails, and transforming schoolyards, we
strive to create healthy, equitable communities for everyone.
