Hi John,
Have you seen the news?
Last week, the world’s leading climate scientists delivered a stark warning:
“There is a rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a liveable and sustainable future for all.” [1]
The situation is bad, and it’s getting worse. We’ve all seen the devastating effects of Cyclone Freddy in Madagascar, Malawi and Mozambique [2]: For many around the world, the danger of climate change is clear and present, and those who are the least responsible for it are being hit the hardest.
This decade will have ripple effects that will be felt for thousands of years. Our choices matter -- Greenpeace is pushing harder than ever before to safeguard our planet and ensure a liveable, safe and thriving environment for all of us who depend on it.
John, this is a climate emergency, but we know that when we come together, we’re unstoppable. Greenpeace is fighting for a better world, and we need your help to do it. Will you contribute a few pounds a month to strengthen our campaign to protect our beautiful natural world?

We are demanding real, transformative solutions. I know this fight may seem impossible, but even in the face of corporate destruction and complacent governments, we’ve won. Our actions, investigations, lobbying and groundbreaking scientific research wouldn’t be possible without generous supporters like you.
Just this month, Greenpeace’s campaign to protect international waters was successful, and a historic global ocean treaty was agreed by governments, despite years of pushback and frustrating delays to negotiations. [3] We’re going to keep fighting for our planet, and we’ve got a plan -- but it needs all of us, including you, to join together and push for change.
The IPCC report should send alarm bells ringing, but it’s not too late to change our course. We can still meet the goal set out in the Paris Agreement and limit warming to 1.5°C. We can still achieve net zero and halve global emissions by 2030. We will demand that fossil fuel companies stop drilling and start paying for the climate damage they have caused. [4]
John, will you join our fight to protect our future? Greenpeace is demanding that politicians and corporations act on the science and stop delaying important policy changes that would help us reach those vital climate goals. Will you set up a monthly gift to contribute to our work?

The world’s leading climate scientists have delivered an urgent message. Now is the time for us to join together to hold those in power to account and fight against injustice.
Future generations will ask how we reacted during this crucial moment. Please join our movement today and contribute a few pounds a month. [link removed]
Thank you for all you do,
Elena Polisano,
Senior Campaigner - Stop Drilling, Start Paying
