"For Western civilization to flourish, Judeo-Christian moral disarmament, or moral surrender, must come to an end."
We can all sense it—the West is in a spiritual and cultural crisis. If it is to recover, then it needs to look eastward, toward Jerusalem.
That's the case Eric Cohen, Executive Director of the Tikvah Fund and First Things contributor, makes in "The Message from Jerusalem ([link removed]) ," recently published in Mosaic, the premier online magazine of Jewish ideas. Mr. Cohen's piece is joined by contributions on the same subject from other writers well-known to First Things readers, like leading Catholic thinker George Weigel ([link removed]) , renowned American historian Wilfred McClay ([link removed]) , and Rabbi David Novak
([link removed]) . And today, Mr. Cohen replies to his interlocuters in a final essay, "The Consequences of a World without Constraints ([link removed]) ."
