Experts Offer NCLEX Training to Nursing Schools
Eleven mentors&mdash;nursing leaders and faculty&mdash;are now on call to help nursing schools help their young scholars study for the Next Generation NCLEX. The Campaign for Action program is tailored to Historically Black Colleges and Universities as well as Hispanic-serving institutions and American Indian/Alaska Native-serving nursing schools. The assistance is designed to help prepare schools for the newly revised National Council Licensure Examination.

Too Few Older Adults Know About Medicare Savings Programs
The good news: More than 1.4 million Americans on Medicare may qualify for a program that can save them $1,900 in health care costs annually. The problem? They might not have heard of the support they&rsquo;re entitled to. An AARP Policy Now video explains how the Medicare Savings Program can cover out-of-pocket expenses. New Report Shows Challenges Family Caregivers Face
Nurses already have plenty of people tugging at their sleeves, but they can provide even more support for more people in the long run if they help other helpers&mdash;family caregivers. The AARP Public Policy Institute&rsquo;s Valuing the Invaluable report focuses on family caregiving, the backbone of the long-term care system. Nurses can help by connecting people who aren&rsquo;t as familiar with the health care system to the resources they need.

New - Health Facilities, Schools Offered Funds for Pathway to Nursing Programs
Accredited schools of nursing, health care facilities including federally qualified health centers or nurse-managed health clinics, are invited to apply for the Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention Pathway to Registered Nurse Program, designed to create a pathway from academic training to clinical practice. Deadline to apply for this Bureau of Health Workforce grant: April 27.

The United Health Foundation Diversity in Health Care Scholarship offers support to current or former health professionals who plan to enroll in full- or part-time classes in the fall to advance their clinical credentials.
