*Community Rating System [ [link removed] ] *(CRS*) *is a voluntary incentive program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management practices that exceed the minimum requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). "*Flood insurance premiums are discounted in CRS communities to reflect that reduced flood risk.*"

 

Scholarships are available that may reimburse Nebraska floodplain administrators' travel related expenses and continuing education credits are preapproved for CFMs and Nebraska Treasurers of communities that participate in the NFIP.
