** Will the passenger vehicles taking off from BWI be following this mandate?
------------------------------------------------------------
Teslarati ([link removed]) (3/13/23) reports: "The State of Maryland followed in the footsteps of California today by banning all new gas vehicle sales by the model year 2035. On Monday, the State of Maryland’s Air Quality Control Advisory Council unanimously voted to approve a regulation that would see an implementation of California’s vehicle emissions standards, which have specific goals to have a certain percentage of new vehicle sales be emission-free. Maryland laws already exist that require the State to match California’s vehicle emissions programs. Maryland aligned with the California Air Resource Board (CARB) vehicle standards in 2011 and is one of seventeen states in the U.S. to adopt the same standards. 'This is a policy that was created in California,' House Minority Leader Jason Buckel said in a statement to the Baltimore Sun. 'It is based on California’s economy, California’s transportation needs, and California’s electrical grid.'
The proposal will require 43 percent of Maryland’s new car sales to be zero-emission by 2027. By the model year 2035, all new passenger vehicles sold in Maryland will need to be zero-emission. The requirements allow plug-in hybrid vehicles to account for 20 percent of the requirements.”

** "It comes down to fairness. Why should some industries like oil, gas, coal or nuclear be held to one standard while others like solar and wind are held to another? [...] All sources have benefits and drawbacks. Perfect energy does not exist, and the pitfalls must be addressed and remedied."

The "Two-Term Governor" of Georgia is "Not" working to ban gas stoves.

** Daily Caller ([link removed])
(3/14/23) reports: "3/13/23) reports: "Two-time failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams is joining an environmental advocacy group that is looking to crack down on gas stoves, according to the group’s website. Abrams will be joining Rewiring America, a group that aims to electrify homes and appliances and suggests gas stoves can lead to asthma and air pollution, as a senior counsel to implement a “national awareness campaign” that pushes America towards a reliance on electric energy, according to a Rewiring America press release. The left-of-center advocacy group, which works to minimize the use of oil and natural gas, is sponsored by the Windward Fund, a nonprofit managed by liberal “dark money” consulting firm Arabella Advisors...The advocacy group first came under fire from Republicans in December 2022 after Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm promoted a Rewiring America study that linked gas stoves to asthma. In January, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that
they were considering a nationwide gas stove ban...The Biden Administration rescinded the idea after much backlash, with Granholm denying the claim, according to Bloomberg...'It’s a shocking amount of money that they’re hauling in with this scheme of theirs,' Institute for Energy Research President Tom Pyle told Fox News. 'I call it Big Green Inc. It is literally a business for these guys and they cloak themselves in the mantra of trying to save the planet. But, really, this is just very sophisticated self-dealing.'"

"We're not trying to ban gas stoves, and we won't give you the documents that prove otherwise!"

Back in reality...

** Fox News ([link removed])
(3/13/23) column: Who knew President Joe Biden hated gas stoves so much? Not only does he have multiple federal agencies targeting them, but he is also going after the natural gas supplies on which they depend. Like so much of the craziness coming from Washington these days, the war on the blue flame is being done for the sake of fighting climate change. Here is a rundown of how your tax dollars are at work to restrict your freedom of choice in the kitchen: CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. created quite a stir last month when he stated that a federal ban on new natural gas stoves was 'a real possibility.' The public backlash was so strong – it turns out American don’t like the idea of the feds forcing them to choose electric over gas cooking - that the Biden Administration issued denials that any such crackdown was in the works...DOE recently proposed its first-ever energy efficiency standards for residential stoves. Though such regulations are supposed to be fuel neutral, the
agency’s proposal stands out for hitting gas stoves much harder than electric versions, according to the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, which represents makers of both types of stoves...You can’t have a natural gas stove if you don’t have a natural gas hookup in your home or apartment, and climate activists both inside and outside the Biden Administration are working to make this the case for millions more Americans."
