First, we are honored to have former Ventura City Council member Lorrie Brown speak, whose campaign we endorsed 4 years ago. She will share her experiences and insights from her time serving on the City Council.
Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that chapter member Arthur Valenzuela Jr. has won his election in the Oxnard City Council District 6 special election. Arthur is the first member of the Ventura County DSA to win a local election and we are incredibly proud of him. He will be addressing the membership to discuss his campaign and his goals on the Oxnard City Council.
Finally, our Steering Committee Chair Dylan Whisman will make a short presentation titled "What is Democratic Socialism?". A great opportunity for both new and long-time members to deepen their understanding of our organization's goals and values.
