Friend,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), considered one of the best data sources on gun violence, shows Pennsylvania’s 2021 gun death rate increased by more than 9% over the previous year. (1)

Illegal guns are fueling this gun violence epidemic. Outrageously, Pennsylvania remains one of the states that does not require the reporting of missing weapons. Tell your legislators to support lost and stolen gun reporting legislation to stop this deadly trajectory and save lives.

TAKE ACTION: [link removed]

The numbers behind this increase are alarming: 1,896 Pennsylvanians died by gun violence in 2021, up from 1,752 in 2020 and 1,528 in 2019. We are losing our friends and family members at a heartbreaking rate.

Thankfully, State Representatives Ben Sanchez and Malcolm Kenyatta are taking action. They have introduced legislation that would help stop the flow of illegal guns killing people throughout the commonwealth.

We know these laws are effective because states that have lost and stolen gun laws in effect have seen a significant reduction (46%) in traced illegal gun movement. (2)

We need this in PA, where on average, 21 guns go missing every single day. (2)

Ask your legislators to cosponsor lost and stolen legislation today: [link removed]

And it’s not too late to sign up to join us at Advocacy Day on March 23rd, where this legislation will be a top lobbying priority: [link removed]
