The numbers behind this increase are alarming: 1,896 Pennsylvanians died by gun violence in 2021, up from 1,752 in 2020 and 1,528 in 2019. We are losing our friends and family members at a heartbreaking rate.
Thankfully, State Representatives Ben Sanchez and Malcolm Kenyatta are taking action. They have introduced legislation that would help stop the flow of illegal guns killing people throughout the commonwealth.
We know these laws are effective because states that have lost and stolen gun laws in effect have seen a significant reduction (46%) in traced illegal gun movement.2
We need this in PA, where on average, 21 guns go missing every single day.2
