It proposes $5 trillion in tax hikes on families and small businesses, eliminates like-kind exchange and step-up in basis for our farmers, and threatens the long-term solvency of Social Security and Medicare. His plan even includes repealing the successful Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that lowered taxes for middle-class families, doubled the child tax credit, and implemented a 20% business-income deduction for small businesses. When I was elected to Congress, I made a promise to Iowa taxpayers that I would end wasteful spending, reduce our $31 trillion debt, and get our fiscal house in order.
