Dear Friend,

In this week's roundup: My Defend America's Rural Energy Act, President Biden's budget proposal, and my meeting with the Iowa Primary Care Association. That and more -- remember to follow my Facebook page by clicking here to stay up-to-date throughout the week!
MY DEFEND AMERICA'S RURAL ENERGY ACT

Domestic energy production is critical to Iowa’s economy and our national security. In Iowa alone, our biofuels industry supports roughly 57,000 jobs and generates $7.2 billion towards Iowa’s GDP. But we cannot let our guard down when it comes to defending our rural energy sector and our energy security from foreign influence.

Due to recent aggressive behavior, we know that our foreign enemies – especially China – have their sights set on our most vital, yet finite resource in rural America: our farmland.

That’s why I am proud to lead the DARE Act to defend our farmers and energy producers from Chinese influence and foreign land grabs.

MEETING WITH THE IOWA PRIMARY CARE ASSOCIATION

I’m honored to be named a Distinguished Community Health Advocate by the Iowa Primary Care Association for my work to support access to rural healthcare.

In Congress, the health and wellbeing of our families and communities remains a top priority for me.
ONE MORE THING: PRESIDENT BIDEN'S BUDGET PROPOSAL
President Biden’s budget spells disaster for Main Street America. It proposes $5 trillion in tax hikes on families and small businesses, eliminates like-kind exchange and step-up in basis for our farmers, and threatens the long-term solvency of Social Security and Medicare. His plan even includes repealing the successful Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that lowered taxes for middle-class families, doubled the child tax credit, and implemented a 20% business-income deduction for small businesses.

When I was elected to Congress, I made a promise to Iowa taxpayers that I would end wasteful spending, reduce our $31 trillion debt, and get our fiscal house in order. In our new Republican House majority, I intend to keep that promise and deliver results for Iowa.
