John,
Did you know that 174 years ago today on March 10, 1849, the Wisconsin Assembly voted to pass an abortion ban?
I doubt that anyone after the Roe decision in 1973 thought we would once again be living under archaic abortion laws from 1849, but that’s our post- Dobbs reality here in Wisconsin.
On the anniversary of our state’s antiquated abortion ban from 1849, Women Win Wisconsin is bringing folks from every corner of Wisconsin together to rally for reproductive justice and restore our reproductive rights.
It’s going to take all of us to elect pro-choice leaders up and down the ballot and send a clear message that our civil rights aren’t up for debate.
We’re hosting rallies all across Wisconsin, from Appleton to Eau Claire – and we would love for you to join us!

From fair maps to reproductive freedom, everything is on the line this year. Who we elect to the Supreme Court on April 4 will shape our state’s future for the next decade.
We sincerely hope you’re able to join us as we rally across the state and turn out pro-choice voters for this year’s crucial spring elections.
John, now is the time to get organized. Now is the time to rally for our rights!
In solidarity,
Sarah Godlewski

P.S. If you can’t make it out to rally with us, it’s not too late to show your support in other ways! Chip in whatever you're able today to fund our critical organizing work through April 4 >> [[link removed]]
The power to win elections now and in the foreseeable future is with pro-choice Wisconsinites and our fight for our rights.

With the future of our democracy and reproductive freedom at stake, former Wisconsin State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski launched an initiative building on the power of pro-choice women.
The fall of Roe v. Wade reinstated Wisconsin’s cruel abortion ban from 1849 that provides no exceptions for rape or incest and could jail or fine doctors. But we know the right-wing won’t stop there. Governor Evers has already vetoed nine anti-abortion bills that passed the GOP-controlled legislature, and when he called for a special special to repeal the 1849 law, Republicans gaveled in and out in less than a minute.
At Women Win Wisconsin, we believe the key to stopping the GOP is to activate the overwhelming majority of voters who support reproductive freedom. A recent Marquette University Law School poll showed 80% of Wisconsin voters are concerned with the change in abortion policy now that abortion is illegal in the state. These voters can make the difference in Wisconsin races that are often decided by only a few hundred votes.
Women Win Wisconsin will make sure pro-choice voters know exactly who’s going to fight for their reproductive rights and freedoms. We back pro-choice women running in Wisconsin’s most competitive races, and we’re excited to support Democratic victories up and down the ballot.
There are critical spring elections on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 and Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
