96 House Democrats Show Us Who They Really Are, Again U.S. House
Republicans once again went on the offense, and U.S. House Democrats
once again showed us who they really are.

A few weeks ago, the U.S.
House took up a Republican-led resolution disapproving of the
Washington, D.C. Council's decision to revise their criminal code. The
revision, as the White House itself stated, would have reduced maximum
penalties "for offenses like murders and other homicides, armed home
invasion burglaries, armed carjackings, armed robberies, unlawful gun
possession, and some sexual assault offenses." The Washington Post
Editorial Board added that it would further tie “the hands of police and
prosecutors while overwhelming courts.”

When the votes were tallied,
173 House Democrats, including Indiana's two lone Democrats, Reps. Frank
Mrvan and André Carson, voted against the resolution. If you were
wondering, that's 81 percent of House Democrats.

Weeks after the
vote, when it became clear that the resolution would pass the U.S.
Senate, President Joe Biden stated that he would sign it — a huge
flip-flop that left House Democrats out to dry. Later, it was reported
that those 173 House Democrats “voted along with what they thought was
the White House’s stance..."

So that begs the question: Do House
Democrats like Reps. Mrvan and Carson value criminals over law-abiding
citizens or do they just vote however they think Joe Biden wants them
to?

Neither is acceptable, and both serve as a great reminder of the
important work we have ahead of us to not just keep the U.S. House, but
to take back the U.S. Senate and elect a Republican president in 2024.
Enjoy this week's newsletter.

Sincerely,
Chairman Kyle Hupfer

 Governor Holcomb's Week That
WasAn Update on East Palestine, Ensuring Safety Governor Eric Holcomb
meets with crew members of the USS Indiana earlier in the week.
On
Wednesday, Governor Eric Holcomb released the results of third-party
testing of material brought from the site of the East Palestine train
derailment. The results indicated that the material doesn't contain any
harmful levels of dioxins when compared to acceptable levels established
by the EPA. Additionally, at Governor Holcomb's request, the EPA agreed
to pause further shipments of material until further testing is
conducted.

His full statement on the results can be found below.
"Pace Labs has completed and shared the full results of their
third-party dioxin testing I had ordered and expedited last week.
Initial samples were taken on Saturday morning, March 4, and testing
began that same day at their Minneapolis laboratory.

"These results
indicate that the material tested does not contain any harmful levels of
dioxins when compared to acceptable levels established by the EPA.
Furthermore, these results demonstrate that the site operator is
lawfully permitted to dispose of that material at its site. We have
informed the EPA and the site operator of these testing results.

"We
will have Pace Labs continue to test samples of any future loads that
may arrive in Indiana from East Palestine to confirm that none of the
material contains harmful levels of dioxins."

Biden’s Budget Includes $5.5 Trillion in Tax Hikes
As the New York
Times put it, President Biden's proposed budget
[link removed]

funding by an

additional $80 billion it received in the so-called "Inflation
Reduction Act."

From

on-in-tax-hikes/ National Review:

President Biden on Thursday
unveiled a budget that has a staggering $5.5 trillion in tax hikes to
help finance an expansion of Obamacare, Medicaid, and housing
subsidies, as well as a slew of other federal programs.

Though the
budget claims $3 trillion of deficit savings, that is only when
measured against the budget that was already inflated by his first two
years in office.

While the budget is not going anywhere, given
Republican control of the House of Representatives, it does represent
Biden’s opening salvo in upcoming negotiations over the budget and
raising the debt ceiling.
Story continues.

 New
York Post: Riedl: King of debt Joe Biden absurdly labels himself a
‘deficit hawk’
When you here Democrats claim Joe Biden has reduced the
deficit by trillions, send them this.

From the
[link removed]
f-a-deficit-hawk/ New York Post:

After President Biden spent 2022
claiming that “I have made tackling inflation my top economic
priority,” a new report quotes Biden and his advisers unveiling their
top economic priority for 2023: deficit reduction.

I’m not kidding.
How serious is the White House about reining in inflation and
deficits?
The very same day Politico unveiled the new priority, the
Biden administration went to the Supreme Court to defend its illegal —
not to mention inflationary and deficit-financed — attempt to
unilaterally forgive $400 billion in student loans.

The president’s
pivot toward deficit reduction brings no actual new savings proposals.
Piece continues.

Internshttp://indiana.gop/internships If you know a college student
that's interested in stepping into the world of Hoosier politics, we've
got them covered.

We're looking for young, talented Hoosiers to join
us at our headquarters in Indianapolis. This opportunity allows them to
get hands-on experience working for Indiana's largest and most
successful political organization, providing administrative support to
staff and taking on special projects (and more) while helping build
their resume, gain insight into the political and legislative
processes, and make valuable connections. And we'll do this all while
helping them earn college credit.
