Proud, Clean and Ambitious
Clean air Day
We wouldnt say were the *greenest city in the UK*, but were in the top one. This has been recently confirmed by The Guardian that said weare *arguably the most ambitious council on tackling climate change*, having set a target to be *the first carbon neutral city in the UK by 2028*.
Here are some of the things we have worked on to improve our air quality and reduce carbon emissions:
* Introduced a Workplace Parking Levy, generating revenue that is only spent on sustainable transport schemes;
* Built an electric tram network, powered by our not-for-profit energy company, Robin Hood Energy, using renewable sources;
* Grown the world's largest fleets of biogas double-decker buses and run one of the largest fleets of electric buses in the UK;
* Installed 286 publicly accessible charge points [ [link removed] ] - all powered from renewable sources - and given out 400,000 to 38 businesses to install charge points, cycle shelters, showers and ebikes;
* Converted more than 22% of our fleet to ULEVs before our target of 2020.
We believe, together, we can do even more, not only for the city but for the world. Your help will be crucial. Whether you are a business, public sector, sole trader, jobseeker, student, parent or a child, there is always something you can do to help tackle climate change. Here are a few ideas... ??Good news for five more businesses in Nottingham

We are pleased to announce that five new businesses will receive grants to boost their low emission journey. These businesses have been successful in applying for our Workplace Travel Service grant scheme [ [link removed] ]and will receive funding to install charge points, cycle shelters, showers and also buy brand new ebikes. This makes a total of 38 businesses that have been supported by the council's Workplace Travel Service and the feedback from those that have benefited has been very positive.
Could your business benefit too? The process is very straight forward and any type of business can apply including sole traders. Contact us [ [link removed] ] for more information.
