** Commission on the Status of Women 67 parallel event:

------------------------------------------------------------

** Securing Indigenous Women’s Rights in the Green Economy
------------------------------------------------------------
Indigenous Peoples are facing a new wave of extractivism for transition minerals key in battery development such as copper, nickel, cobalt and lithium. These mining projects risk replicating the same harms of the fossil fuel economy: threatening Indigenous Peoples’ rights, especially Indigenous women’s rights, and destroying biodiverse ecosystems. Panelists will discuss why Indigenous women’s rights must be prioritized.

Speakers:
Galina Angarova (Buryat), Executive Director, Cultural Survival
Lesley Muñoz (Colla), Board Member, Plurinational Observatory of Andean Salt Flats (Observatorio Plurinacional de Salares Andinos) OPSAL
Jannie Staffansson (Saami), Cultural Survival Board Member
Guadalupe García Prado, Director, Observatory of Extractive Industries (Observatorio de Industrias Extractivas)
Kate R. Finn (Osage), Executive Director, First Peoples Worldwide

Moderator:
Diana Pastor (Maya K'iche'), Media Coordinator, Cultural Survival

CSW 67 Evento paralelo:
------------------------------------------------------------

Panelistas:
Galina Angarova (Buryat), Directora Ejecutiva, Cultural Survival
