Securing Indigenous Women’s Rights in the Green Economy


Indigenous Peoples are facing a new wave of extractivism for transition minerals key in battery development such as copper, nickel, cobalt and lithium. These mining projects risk replicating the same harms of the fossil fuel economy: threatening Indigenous Peoples’ rights, especially Indigenous women’s rights, and destroying biodiverse ecosystems. Panelists will discuss why Indigenous women’s rights must be prioritized.

Los Pueblos Indígenas se enfrentan a una nueva ola de extractivismo de minerales de transición clave en el desarrollo de baterías como el cobre, el níquel, el cobalto y el litio.
