ELPC has been a champion of the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) for twenty years, as part of the Farm Bill’s Energy Title. This successful bipartisan program has sparked investment in over 22,000 renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in farms and rural small businesses around the country, including many in the ([link removed]) Midwest ([link removed]) . But, despite its own studies’ findings, MidAmerican has announced no plans to retire its coal plants before 2050. ELPC & partners will continue to hold them accountable.

If left unchanged, that ruling would wipe out two landmark environmental laws and harm our water. β€œThe stakes couldn’t be higher,” said ELPC Senior Attorney Rob Michaels.
