Coalition now has more than 1,000 member groups in 75 countries. It's been
an exciting start to the year with Coalition meetings coming up in
Washington, D.C. [8], Los Angeles, CA [9], and Berkeley, CA [10].
Plus China just announced [11]a significant phase-out of single-use
plastics, a seriously major win for humanity and the environment!

Louisiana Bucket Brigade are suing the Trump Administration, challenging
the failure to disclose the environmental damage and public health risks of

Starbucks Corp., the world’s largest coffeehouse company, has agreed to
shift from single-use packaging to reusable packaging, conduct
unprecedented research to promote customer behavior change, develop new
global reusable container goals, and cut global packaging waste 50 percent

City of Santa Cruz, CA Adds Fee to ‘Disposable’ Cups
Plastic Pollution Coalition members pushed Santa Cruz, CA to approve
changes to the Food Packaging ordinance to include a .25¢ disposable cup
charge and to extend the .25¢ charge to ToGo foodware. [22]
Benioff Ocean Initiative Tackling Plastic Pollution in Rivers [23]
Nine river clean-up programs across the world have been selected to receive
a total of $11 million over the next three years as part of a partnership
between The Coca-Cola Foundation and the Benioff Ocean Initiative at UC
Santa Barbara’s Marine Science Institute. Read more. [23]

The ReThink Plastic Translation team has translated ReThink Plastic
