NATIVE AMERICAN EDUCATION CONFERENCE

* The Wyoming Department of Education is *calling for presenters* [ [link removed] ] for the 14th-annual Native American Education Conference, August 8-10, 2023, at Central Wyoming College in Riverton.
* This year?s theme is ?The Whole Child - Addressing Mental, Emotional, and Physical Needs of Indigenous Students."?

* Each high school is being asked to choose their top Native American students for the annual *Pacesetter Award* [ [link removed] ]. Winners will be honored during a ceremony at the conference.

WYOMING VETERANS WELCOME HOME DAY

*March 25, 2023*

* In recognition of the members of the United States Armed Forces who served bravely and faithfully for the United States during the Korean War and the Vietnam War, as well as all the members of the United States Armed Forces who were not properly thanked or welcomed home following their military service, the governor is required to issue a proclamation requesting proper observance of Wyoming Veterans Welcome Home Day.
* The day shall be *appropriately observed in the public schools* of the state and by organizations within the state.
* This year, Wyoming Veterans Welcome Home day is scheduled for *March 25, 2023*. There will be ceremonies in Saratoga, Cody, Powell and Hulett. Speeches will be offered by various political officials and the Adjutant General of Wyoming, Major General Greg Porter.

* The Keizai Koho Center offers a *Study Tour to Japan* [ [link removed] ] for North American middle and high school teachers. Ten teachers will be chosen to tour Japan in late June for 10 days, during which they will visit with teachers, students, and business leaders and discuss political, economic and social issues. * The Society for Science Advocate Program provides a $3,000 stipend and year-round support for an individual (teacher, counselor, mentor) who agrees to serve as an advocate for 3-5 students from traditionally underrepresented racial or ethnic groups in scientific competitions. The world needs more teachers who know how to stimulate curiosity and wonder in young minds, and who strive to create compelling instruction and encourage students to explore frontiers of scientific discovery. Students will engage in specialized learning experiences in a museum setting with options that include conservation, education, public relations, registration, and more.
