Less than a week since Republicans claimed there was no plan to cut Social Security and Medicare [[link removed]] , even agreeing with Biden’s commitment to protect Social Security and Medicare at his State of the Union Address, the GOP began cowering away from doing what’s best for Americans.
Nearly every single American has been paying into Social Security– investing in their retirements and their futures since getting their first jobs. Beyond that, Americans everywhere depend on Medicare to help cover the skyrocketing costs of health care. It is outrageous that the GOP wants to gut these programs and make life even more difficult for most people who depend on these programs to retire and access healthcare.
