The Associated Press has called the special election in VA-04 – and Congresswoman-elect Jennifer McClellan is officially on her way to Washington, D.C.!

This is a historic victory. Congresswoman-elect McClellan is the first black woman to ever be elected to Congress in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is an incredible victory for every Virginian – and we have a great deal to celebrate.

But we also have a lot more to do. We need to start plotting a course to retake the U.S. House and give McClellan the majority she’ll need to make the change Virginians (and Americans) deserve.
