The Associated Press has called the special election in VA-04 – and Congresswoman-elect Jennifer McClellan is officially on her way to Washington, D.C.!

This is a historic victory. Congresswoman-elect McClellan is the first black woman to ever be elected to Congress in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is an incredible victory for every Virginian – and we have a great deal to celebrate.

But we also have a lot more to do. We need to start plotting a course to retake the U.S. House and give McClellan the majority she’ll need to make the change Virginians (and Americans) deserve. Can we count on you to chip in and help continue to rebuild our majority in the U.S. House?

Congresswoman-elect McClellan’s victory is an outstanding start. But we still need a few more seats before Democrats can retake the majority in the U.S. House.
