Chemical Train Disaster in Ohio
On February 3, everything changed for residents of East Palestine, Ohio, when a Norfolk Southern train derailed just outside of town, causing an evacuation and an environmental disaster. Fifty cars of the train derailed, including eleven tankers of highly toxic chemicals. In an effort to stop a catastrophic explosion, emergency responders released five tanker cars of vinyl chloride and ignited the chemicals.

Fossil Fuel-to-Clean Energy Transition
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) may not be an agency you've heard of, but their decisions affect everything from pipelines to grid stability to your electric bill. The agency is currently gridlocked 2-2, but President Biden can appoint a new commissioner to make progress.

Invest in Clean Energy, Not LNG
The next funding target for two major banks, JP Morgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, is Port Arthur Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in Texas. We have an opportunity to persuade the banks to invest in renewable clean energy instead of this dirty fossil fuel project.

Sign our petition today to stop JP Morgan Chase and Goldman Sachs from funding the Port Arthur LNG project.

Los Trucos Sucios de la Energía Sucia/The Dirty Tricks of the Dirty Energy Industry
Two new devastating reports have uncovered once again the fossil fuel industry’s lies and deceptions to hide their decades-long scientific knowledge about climate change and the effects their products have on our planet. One was commissioned by the American Petroleum Institute in 1968; the other, by Exxon, in the 1970's. Many decades later, both proved to be astonishingly accurate in predicting how fossil fuels are destroying our atmosphere.

Yet, as Associate Director of Communications Javier Sierra writes, the industry seems to have learned nothing from this corrupt past and continues its destructive practices.
