It's been 40 days since the Texas legislature session began its 140 day session and activists are beginning to wonder why the Texas House is moving so slowly. They will return on Tuesday after a 5 day break. Before adjourning last week, State Rep. Tony Tinderholt questioned the prudence [[link removed]] of the House leaving with the legislative clock ticking.
The Legislature finally has their emergency priorities from Gov. Greg Abbott, following his State of the State Address [[link removed]]. Apprehensions of Chinese nationals crossing the southern border illegally have gone up by more than 700 percent since last year.
However, a retired ICE agent says he was told “this is nothing” compared to the number of such migrants making their way to the border right now.
