The People's Republic of China, controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is not our ally. Why, then, have we decided as a nation that they should be able to buy our farmland? Protecting Washington Farmland from the Chinese Communist Party The People's Republic of China, controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is not our ally. Why, then, have we decided as a nation that they should be able to buy our farmland? Especially when it is explicitly prohibited for Americans to buy land in their country. This week, I visited the Washington State Legislature and discussed this concerning issue with them. In order to guarantee our national security, we must know where our food is coming from. Our food supply chain must remain secure and independent, which means depending on our domestic farmers. On the federal level, I introduced the Prohibition of Agricultural Land for the People’s Republic of China Act, which would prohibit the purchase of agricultural land by the Chinese Communist Party and stop them from benefitting from our farm programs. I hear from many Central Washingtonians who are deeply concerned about the CCP's purchase of our farmland and I remain fully committed to ensuring we take a proactive stance against the CCP's purchase of our land. The Biden Administration has made it abundantly clear they have no plan to solve this crisis, so I remain committed to holding them accountable and coming up with viable solutions this Congress.
