The train derailment in Ohio, where toxic
chemicals are spewing into the air and water, was preventable and is the
latest example of the horrific pain caused by corporate greed and
corporate control of our media and political system.

Norfolk-Southern, the company responsible for the spill, has silenced
whistleblowers, refused to take basic safety measures, slashed staffing to
a bare minimum, denied their workers the dignity of sick days, and even
authorized a $10 billion stock buyback giveaway to shareholders while
neglecting to do desperately needed maintenance.

Of course, it's not the billionaire shareholders, but working families
facing the horrific consequences of their failure — and Norfolk Southern
can count on a complicit corporate media primarily owned by the same banks
to shield them from meaningful consequences.

This train derailment is a symptom of a larger problem tearing our country
apart.

Amazon and Starbucks continue to violate labor laws with despicable
union-busting tactics, and big pharma causes thousands of deaths each year
through price-gouging.

The wealth and political inequality has gotten so bad that Republicans,
the party that calls itself "pro-life" and "pro-children," have introduced
a plan to bring back child labor in dangerous industries.

We need our Representatives and Government officials in DC to be a xxxxxx
against corporate greed. If they aren't up to the job, we WILL replace
them.
