The centerpiece of the Health Affairs Journal Club meeting in February
is, "The Role Of Real Estate Investment Trusts In Staffing US Nursing
Homes
<[link removed]>."

The authors created a novel database of real estate investment trust
(REIT) investments in US nursing homes and combined it with Medicare
cost data from the period 2013-19 to examine the effect increased REIT
investment in nursing homes on staffing hours of licensed practical
nurses, certified nursing assistants and registered nurses in years 2
and 3 after an initial investment.

On February 16, please join author Robert Tyler Braun of Weill Cornell
Medical School, for a detailed discussion of the paper's data,
methods, and policy conclusions. Health Affairs Senior Editor Kathleen
Haddad will host.

Date: Thursday, February 16, 2023
Time: 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
