URGENT RESPONSE NEEDED: Tomorrow marks five years since the senseless mass shooting in Parkland, FL, and we are honoring the victims and survivors with action. We are counting on 431 activists to speak out before 11:59 p.m.

Should Congress ban military-style assault weapons?

[link removed]

Five years ago, a gunman entered Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and went on a deadly rampage through campus. Armed with an AR-15-style weapon, he murdered 17 people and injured 17 more and changed a tight-knit community forever. And still, our nation did not ban these deadly weapons.

Assault rifles like the one used in Parkland are the common thread between some of the deadliest mass shootings in our country's history — used to kill 61 in Las Vegas, 49 in Orlando, 21 in Uvalde… We know that banning these weapons will reduce instances of gun violence, because we’ve seen it work before. But the NRA and its paid-off politicians have continued to block legislation to ban assault weapons, putting gun industry profits over human lives. We have had enough bloodshed, it’s time to change this country.

That's why we're reaching out now, John. We need a surge of grassroots support to overcome the NRA's obstruction and ban assault weapons, but your response is missing from our official poll, and we can only keep it open until 11:59 p.m. tonight. Please, stand with survivors and honor victims of the Parkland shooting with action by submitting your answer now:
