It's Election Day in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania for the 32nd, 34th and 35th state House districts. The outcome of the special elections for these three vacant seats will determine which party controls the Pennsylvania state House and, consequently, the fate of a proof of ID to vote amendment that already passed the Republican-controlled state Senate. Yesterday, Texas Lieutenant Gov. Dan Patrick (R) called for Harris County to hold new elections due to alleged ballot paper shortages during the November 2022 midterms. Patrick argues that these issues could have affected the outcome of some elections in the populous county, which is home to Houston. [link removed]
