Susan Collins is disappointed. She’ll do just enough to protect her seat. What else is new?

John —

Mitch McConnell is ready to start the impeachment trial Tuesday. If he has it his way, it’s going to result in a speedy acquittal for the president, with no examination of the shocking evidence of President Trump’s use of his office for personal gain.

What’s happening in the Senate won't be a trial. You don’t have to be a lawyer to know in a democracy, a trial means evidence, witnesses, and an impartial judge and jury. When Mitch McConnell announced he’s coordinating with the White House counsel, it was as outrageous as a jury foreperson announcing they’re the defense attorneys. If history is any guide, Susan Collins will follow Mitch McConnell’s lead to deliver a political win for the president: an acquittal he can brag about on Twitter.

We deserve a Senator willing to stand up to the powerful, someone who is willing to follow the facts, get to the bottom of President Trump’s abuses of power and put our democracy before loyalty to a political party.

Susan Collins has spent over twenty years in Washington. It’s clear she cares more about her political and corporate friends in DC than she does about the majority of Mainers who are angered by President Trump’s blatant corruption.

Susan Collins would rather stay in power than protect our democracy. Chip in and stop Susan Collins from enabling a sham trial. >>> [[link removed]]

Ross LaJeunesse is running for Senate because he knows real leadership means putting people first— ahead of power and corporate profits. Ross stood up to Google on behalf of women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community, even when his job was on the line, because those are the values he was raised with. Ross made a pledge to himself a long time ago that he will always stand up for the truth.

Now Ross’s grassroots campaign needs your help to compete with Susan Collins’ corporate donors. Will you pitch in and help elect a Senator who stands up for the truth, wherever it leads? [[link removed]]
