Research from the Williams Institute and Clark University finds nearly 9 out of 10 (88%) LGBTQ+ parents surveyed are concerned about the impact of the Don’t Say Gay bill on them and their children.
Parents cited concerns that the bill would restrict them from speaking freely about their families and could affect their children’s sense of self and sense of safety. As a result, 56% of LGBTQ+ parents have considered moving out of Florida, and 17% have taken steps to do so.

** Experiencing HIV stigma associated with depression, anxiety, and lower quality of life
------------------------------------------------------------
A new study published last week in Quality of Life Research examined how HIV stigma influences the well-being of Black sexual minority men living with HIV in Los Angeles County. The majority of participants (82%) said that they were very careful about whom they told their HIV status. Over half (52%) strongly agreed that most people with HIV are rejected when others find out. Participants who experienced higher HIV stigma were more likely to experience depression and anxiety, as well as lower life satisfaction and quality of life.
