Whoa Jack, 2022 was… challenging. North Carolina faced extremely competitive races with eleventh-hour (or zero) support, and as we predicted – apathetic investment in communities of color failed to motivate turnout in the numbers we needed.

We realize that’s disappointing because we were all hoping for an instant fix. It can be tempting for some folks to start shifting blame or pointing fingers, but it’s more productive if we’re brave enough for real talk.

In short, it’s time for the rubber to meet the road. Level-setting for future elections is happening now, and while others are still talking about candidates and issue politics without connecting them to voters of color, NNCP is taking a more effective approach.

The solution is right under our noses. By investing in citizens’ quality of life, we can earn their participation in elections for years to come.

It’s time for us to refocus and address the issues that North Carolinians are struggling with every day. From inflation (have you seen the price of eggs?!) to skyrocketing housing costs, our communities are fighting to survive.

They can’t wait for candidates to deliver. We need to put the power in their hands so they can demand more from our lawmakers.

Jack, 2022 was a serious reality check. It reminded us that we can only succeed when we grow and change for the better. What we saw unfold in North Carolina was proof that you’re on the right track with NNCP. Our “voters-first” approach of long-term investment in communities of color is what sets us apart. We have to connect with voters authentically, on what matters to them- and that requires a consistent year-round effort.

We knew from the beginning that winning requires a bigger vision, and we’re asking you to walk boldly into the future with us. Together, we can build the kind of progress that makes real change possible, but that requires the time and resources to keep connecting with communities. Will you pitch in $5 today and join NNCP as we raise the bar on what it means to organize North Carolina?
