The state of Texas and an anonymous plaintiff are suing the three Texas Planned Parenthood affiliates and Planned Parenthood Federation of America for nearly $1.8 billion in an attempt to shut us down. Their meritless lawsuit alleges that Planned Parenthood health centers defrauded the state's Medicaid system by getting reimbursed for providing birth control, cancer screenings, and other basic health care services.

The allegations are false -- a previous court ruled that Planned Parenthood affiliates could provide these services. Worse, Texas knew affiliates were providing the services, reimbursed them for the services, and never asked the affiliates to repay the state before launching this blatant politically-motivated lawsuit.

It's another dishonest, baseless attack, part of a coordinated campaign to try to shut down Planned Parenthood. And if it works, it will threaten access to health care in Texas and potentially nationwide.

Tell Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton to drop this politically-motivated lawsuit and end the attacks on Planned Parenthood health centers and patients.
