50 years ago, the Supreme Court affirmed a woman’s constitutional right to access safe and legal abortion in their landmark ruling of Roe v. Wade .

That’s 50 years of precedent that the Supreme Court completely gutted when they overturned Roe last June, stripping away American women’s freedom to make their own decisions about abortion.

I joined The Last Word on MSNBC on Friday to make it a point: overturning Roe is only the beginning.

Republicans’ crusade against women’s reproductive freedoms has created national chaos that is a mortal threat to women’s health. The threat has only become more dire as right-wing state legislatures and Congressional Republicans continue trying to roll back reproductive rights across the country.
