50 years ago, the Supreme Court affirmed a woman’s constitutional right to access safe and legal abortion in their landmark ruling of Roe v. Wade.

That’s 50 years of precedent that the Supreme Court completely gutted when they overturned Roe last June, stripping away American women’s freedom to make their own decisions about abortion.

I joined The Last Word on MSNBC on Friday to make it a point: overturning Roe is only the beginning.

Republicans’ crusade against women’s reproductive freedoms has created national chaos that is a mortal threat to women’s health. The threat has only become more dire as right-wing state legislatures and Congressional Republicans continue trying to roll back reproductive rights across the country.

I am determined to push back against these dangerous Republican efforts, and I will not stop organizing and fighting until women can exercise our freedoms equally in all parts of this country.
