Here are some updates from today.
North Carolina Republican legislators asked the North Carolina Supreme Court to rehear a case over the state’s congressional and legislative maps, a blatantly partisan move after control of the state Supreme Court flipped to red in the 2022 midterm elections. They also asked the court to rehear a case challenging a restrictive photo ID law. [link removed]
Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer announced his plan to speed up election results in Arizona, which includes requiring mail-in ballots to be returned four days before Election Day, expanding the early voting period and more. [link removed]
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals scheduled oral argument in a lawsuit against Texas' "wet signature" law for March 6. The law requires people who submit a voter registration form electronically or via fax to also send a pen-on-paper version of their signature. [link removed]
A Minnesota judge dismissed a lawsuit seeking to ban electronic voting machines in the state. The suit was filed by a nonprofit organization founded by a failed GOP congressional candidate. [link removed]

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court justices weighed a petition filed by Ohio Republicans asking the Court to review the Ohio Supreme Court's decision to strike down the state's congressional map for partisan gerrymandering.
