The Earth’s ozone layer is on track to recover completely — arguably the greatest and only long-term success in climate action.
In a report for the United Nations, a panel of experts confirmed that with the phase-out of nearly all ozone-depleting substances (ODS), the ozone will recover within decades, demonstrating the value of concerted international efforts to tackle climate change.
