On behalf of the MPAC Hollywood Bureau, I wish you and yours a Happy New Year. May all of your hopes and dreams in 2023 and beyond come true.

In about a week, the 2023 Sundance Film Festival ([link removed]) is going to be in full swing. Sunday, January 22, MPAC’s Muslim House is hosting a Party at The Park from 7 p.m. MT to 10 p.m. MT. We have wonderful discussions in store so if you are planning on attending the festival, please join us!

Panel #1 - Broken: The Failed Promise of Muslim Inclusion Fireside Chat

Filmmaker and Sundance Producing Lab Fellow Razi Jafri ([link removed]) will be in conversation withDr. Evelyn Alsultany ([link removed]) about her new book, Broken: The Failed Promise of Muslim Inclusion ([link removed]) , and the Obeidi-Alsultany Test ([link removed]) , which aims to help Hollywood improve representations of Muslims.


Panel #2 - Muslim Cinematic Storytelling

In community with The Islamic Scholarship Fund ([link removed]) (ISF), we’re excited to have the director of Americanish ([link removed]) , Iman Zawahry ([link removed]) , who is also a Sundance Momentum Fellow and the ISF Film Programs Director, lead a conversation with filmmakers Aizzah Fatima ([link removed]) ,Imran J. Khan ([link removed]) , Nausheen Dadabhoy ([link removed]) , and Qasim Basir ([link removed]) , whose film To Live and Die and Live ([link removed]) will make its world premiere at the festival.
