The centerpiece of the Health Affairs Journal Club meeting in January
is, "Medicaid Expansion Led To Reductions In Postpartum Hospitalizations
<[link removed]>."

The authors looked at underused longitudinal hospital data from
2010-2017 and found that Medicaid expansion was associated with a 17
percent reduction in hospitalizations during the first 60 days
postpartum. They also found some evidence of a smaller decrease in
hospitalizations between 61 days and six months postpartum.

On January 18, please join authors Maria W. Steenland, an assistant
professor in the Department of Population Studies and Training Center of
Brown University, and Laura W. Wherry, an assistant professor at New
York University's Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, for a
detailed discussion of the paper's data, methods, and policy
conclusions. Health Affairs Senior Editor Leslie Erdelack will host.

Date: Wednesday,18, 2023
Time: 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Eastern
