The authors looked at underused longitudinal hospital data from 2010-2017 and found that Medicaid expansion was associated with
a 17 percent reduction in hospitalizations during the first 60 days postpartum. They also found some evidence of a smaller decrease in hospitalizations between 61 days and six months postpartum.
