We live in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, yet when it comes
to supporting our workers — those with money and power can never find the
funds.

That's why over 7,000 nurses in New York City have been on strike at Mount
Sinai Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center to demand increased staffing,
better wages, and an end to benefit cuts.

fundamental workers' rights. But we need to do everything we can to help
amplify this call for change and make an impact on those who have the
moral obligation to do better for our workers.

Fighting for workers' rights has remained a pillar of Jamaal's work in
Congress from the very start. Supporting these nurses and care workers
across the country is an intersectional endeavor and is key to undoing
decades of mistreatment and injustice.

Last term, Jamaal introduced The Care for All Agenda in order to call on
our federal government to center care workers in our economy — including
guaranteeing care workers good wages and benefits, workplace protections,
and the right to unionize.

Nurses and care workers are the foundation of our economy and society as
they often risk their lives caring for our loved ones whose lives are also
on the line. Our federal government must support them for the pivotal role
they play in our day to day lives.
