Friend,

Canvass For Bernie

Right now is our opportunity to change the course of history. Bernie Sanders is surging in important polls across the country, but we can’t be complacent: join us in our canvasses throughout Los Angeles every weekend until March 3rd.  <[link removed]>

We know that not only does Bernie beat Trump, but Bernie is the first step to uniting our communities to beat the predatory, unjust, and exploitative systems that make luxuries of health care, housing, and democracy itself. The primary election may be in March, but vote-by-mail ballots are arriving soon, meaning this is our chance to help Bernie stay in the forefront of the conversation.

Get Involved in the Nithya Campaign

Our fight continues at the local level. In December we voted to endorse Nithya Raman for LA City Council District 4, and LA City Council seats are no joke: in the 2015 election for this seat, voter numbers were comparable to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s primary election in 2018. As a member of the LA City Council, Nithya can continue the transformative, progressive agenda she’s championed for years. Click here to get involved with the Nithya Working Group and create more than the status quo for our communities. <[link removed]>

DSA-LA January Chapter Meeting

Get organized and meet your local comrades. Join us at the January chapter meeting this Saturday, January 18from3:00 – 5:00pm at the location that’s easiest for you, whether that’s in the Westside <[link removed]>, Valley <[link removed]>, or Central <[link removed]> area. We will discuss next steps for our chapter, organize, and coordinate turnout for our upcoming campaign actions. See you there!

Medicare For All — Fighting for Healthcare Freedom

January is a national month of action for Bernie Sanders and Medicare For All. We will no longer be held hostage by insurance companies and pharmaceutical billionaires who profit by turning our health into a commodity—and a commodity they own, no less. We invite you to our event Fighting for Healthcare Freedom <[link removed]>, a public forum about Medicare For All and healthcare justice, presented in partnership with National Nurses United/California Nurses Association, Black Lives Matter Los Angeles, and other progressive organizations. Click here to learn more. <[link removed]>

When We Fight, We Win

These may feel like uncertain times, but we are closer than ever to seeing a mass movement wrest power away from corrupt party elites and create a democratic, just, and equitable society. When we come together, then we can begin to fight. And when we fight, we win.

Join our canvasses for Bernie Sanders, happening now all around Los Angeles. <[link removed]>

In Solidarity,

DSA-LA
